From morning hellos in the playground to staying up late planning school trips, teachers do a lot. And when they go above and beyond? We think they deserve a bit of a spotlight.
That’s why we launched Teacher of the Year 2025 – to celebrate the incredible humans shaping young minds.
We’ve already received some amazing nominations. Here are just a few that gave us all the feels:
Mr Wildgoose – Crewe
Turning tricky school days into ones to look forward to.
Adam used to find school overwhelming – until he joined Mr Wildgoose’s class.
“From day one, Mr Wildgoose has been approachable. He bends down and gets on their level when he talks to the kids.” Cheryl said.
Mr Durrant – Leicester
Big community spirit, even bigger playground dreams.
Mr Durrant helped launch a brand new PTFA, bringing parents and teachers together to support the school.
Leanne, parent and co-founder of the PFTA, says Mr Durrant is encouraging of every idea they have. She said: “Everything we put forward to him he says yes and gets fully involved.”
Mrs Davies – Thatcham
Choir leader. Fundraiser. All-round ray of sunshine.
Mrs Davies took half the school to sing at the O2 Arena – and fundraised so no child was left out.
“She goes above and beyond to ensure every child matters and feels secure, happy, safe and included. She is a gem and we are truly blessed to have her.” Said Nicola.
